New quick-start CRM program introduced

Onyx is packaging its software with implementation services and vows to have everything up and running in a month.

Onyx Software Corp. is offering customers what it bills as an on-premise alternative to hosted CRM, featuring fast rollouts and fixed costs.

Called CRMExpress, the program includes 50 perpetual licenses of Onyx sales, marketing and service bundled with implementation services and a post-deployment audit. It also includes six months of maintenance.

CRMExpress costs $129,000.

As part of the plan, Bellevue, Wash.-based Onyx guarantees that the software will be installed within 30 days, according to senior vice president Ben Kiker. Onyx will also do some customization work, allowing businesses to mark-up screen images of the software and amend the applications before they're live.

Onyx seesCRMExpress as an introduction to its software and hopes the program paves the way for future sales -- whether they're hosted, departmental or organization wide.

"We are not interested in putting this in an environment where all they want or need is 20 seats and that's all they'll need down the road," Kiker said.
