Cape Clear debuts Web services tool for Salesforce.com

Campbell, Calif.-based Cape Clear Software Inc. announced an agreement with eCRM applications maker Salesforce.com, San Francisco, to provide a Web services-based integration package designed specifically for the CRM company's products. The two firms reported that Salesforce.com customers will be able to use Cape Clear's CapeStudio Web services development environment to link CRM applications to other systems and applications. The companies are hoping to eliminate the time and expense of traditional Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) solutions.

PwC Consulting backing PeopleSoft EPM offering

New York-based PwC Consulting reported that enterprise applications vendor PeopleSoft Inc.'s Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) offering will be the first analytics package marketed as part of the consultant's iAnalytics product line. The iAnalytics set is PwC Consulting's business intelligence strategy aimed at Fortune 1000 clients. Company officials said Pleasanton, Calif.-based PeopleSoft's EPM will help deliver functionality for financial, workforce, customer, supply chain and strategic analytics.

Syntellect wins Omaha Public Power deal

Speech-enabled supply-chain software maker Syntellect Inc., Phoenix, Ariz., announced it won a contract from the Omaha, Neb., Public Power District to design and implement an interactive media response system. The publicly owned utility reported it will add to its existing Web and agent-based customer service operations with a new voice response system, using Syntellect's speech recognition software. Omaha Public Power officials anticipate that customer service, outage reporting and switchboard functions will all be improved via the project.

Onyx Software anticipates Q2 earnings boost

Bellevue, Wash.-based CRM vendor Onyx Software Corp. predicted that its preliminary financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2002 will exceed expectations. For Q2 of 2002, the company expects revenue of approximately $18 million, compared to $14.6 million in Q1 of 2002. Virtually all of the sequential quarter revenue growth resulted from increased license sales, including additional licenses, company officials said. Onyx estimated that pro-forma operating results will be in the break-even range.

Sovereign Bank deploys Salesnet SFA

Web-based sales force automation (SFA) software specialists Salesnet, Boston, reported that Philadelphia-based Sovereign Bancorp Inc., the third-largest banking institution in New England, deployed its applications on an enterprise-wide scale. Sovereign quadrupled its number of Salesnet users since last October to include its multi-state commercial lending operations, the two firms said. Salesnet claimed it was chosen for its ease of use and ability to support the various selling processes for Sovereign's middle-market -- specialty lending, healthcare, and asset-based lending (ABL) divisions.
