Chordiant lands USAA deal

Heralding the win as proof that it has arrived squarely in the U.S. market, Chordiant Software Inc., Cupertino, Calif., reported it has inked a contract with USAA, the financial services association for members of the U.S. military. The lion's share of Chordiant's business resides in Europe despite the company's desire to grow in the U.S. market. Among the factors listed by USAA in its decision to go with Chordiant were the software maker's scalability and J2EE-based technology.


Harte-Hanks wins financial services customers

CRM provider Harte-Hanks Inc., Billerica, Mass., reported it has won several new financial industry customers around its Allink Daily Deposit Builder application. The firm reported it signed on Fifth Third Bank, Cincinnati; Sovereign Bank, Wyomissing, Pa.; and First Bank of Puerto Rico, San Juan, to use the software. Harte-Hanks said the product allows financial service institutions to identify and respond to significant changes in customer behavior each day, enabling them to win or win back business that might otherwise go to a competitor.


Group 1 Software gets Knight-Ridder deal

Data software specialist Group 1 Software Inc., Lanham, Md., announced it has signed on newspaper publishing giant Knight Ridder Inc. to use its data quality applications. The firm said it would leverage the technology to develop a single customer view of its advertisers and subscribers. The Group 1 software will provide data integrity and enhancement for Knight Ridder's circulation and advertising databases and the databases of each of the company's newspapers.

TightLink ships new application

TightLink Corp., Berkeley, Calif., has launched its latest CRM software package labeled TightLink Service 3. The company called the product an enterprise-class service application featuring real-time visibility into service issues. TightLink reported it has already signed up sizeable customers like online auctioneer eBay Inc. and contact center specialists Sitel Corp. appoints senior vice president of global services

Online CRM vendor, San Francisco, announced that former Oracle Corp. executive Phil Barker has joined the company as senior vice president of global services. The company said Barker would lead its consulting, implementation and integration efforts. With 20 years of IT industry experience, Barker most recently served as vice president of professional services for Aspect Communications Corp. where he led that company's global services organization.
