Sun Microsystems and PwC Consulting expand global alliance

Santa Clara, Calif.-based software giant Sun Microsystems Inc. and New York-based PwC Consulting have expanded their global alliance around the delivery business applications and services. Under the relationship, Sun becomes the preferred Unix hardware supplier for PwC's new CRM ACCEL initiative (Architecture for Cross-channel Customer Experience and Loyalty). In turn, PwC becomes a preferred CRM integrator in Sun's Global Solutions Alliance initiative. The companies report they have joint projects related to the partnership already under way.

Audi shifts to HyperWave

Automaker Audi, Ingolstadt, Germany, selected the software infrastructure of Hyperwave Information Management Inc., Boston, to manage its customer care center. Audi employees will answer customer queries using a new database powered by Hyperwave technology. Hyperwave provides modular, collaborative knowledge management systems integrating content and document management, information access, work-in-process management, collaboration and e-learning capabilities.


Hyperwave lands MicroStrategy deal

San Francisco-based applications maker reported that database software specialist MicroStrategy Inc., Vienna, Va., has deployed its Web-based CRM infrastructure throughout its global offices. MicroStrategy said it has been able to create a globally consistent approach to sales processes using the offering, resulting in increased productivity across its sales and support departments. The companies estimate that an initial deployment took roughly 60 days to complete.


NewFrame and Innovative Systems announce partnership

NewFrame Corp., Saddle Brook, N.J., a maker of data sharing applications, announced that it has bolstered its relationship with customer data management software specialists Innovative Systems Inc., Pittsburgh. The two firms joined forces to build a combined application for organizations seeking to access mainframe data for their business intelligence and CRM applications. NewFrame's products enable multiple servers the ability to access and use mainframe data.

Peachtree Software picks Data Junction for data migration project

Data integration firm Data Junction Corp., Austin, Texas, announced that small business accounting software maker Peachtree Software, Norcross, Ga., signed on for a major CRM migration project. Peachtree is using Data Junction's CRM infrastructure to create a single view of each of its small business clients, allowing the firm to collect customer information and to respond to client needs faster and more efficiently.
